Intimate Woodland Wedding Trent Lakes

Intimate Woodland Wedding Trent Lakes, Ontario

The first time I spoke with Shannon and Sam it felt like talking to old friends, and that’s exactly how these two are.  Warm, welcoming, laid back, and so in love.  Everything on this day was so intentional, and yet so flexible and stress free. It made for the perfect day.  Sam, his dad, close friends and uncle all got ready in Sam and Shannon’s new home. They spent months refinishing it into the the most beautiful, cozy space filled with warm wood and touches of them. Afterwards I headed over to the house at the venue to photograph Shannon getting ready with her family, and friends. Their intimate wedding was held at Tecasy Ranch in Trent Lakes, Ontario. It was the most beautiful and significant backdrop for their day to unfold.  My favourite part was post ceremony sneaking away into the woods and river that actually is the same river that flows behind their home. That’s what made Tecasy Ranch such a special and significant spot to Shannon and Sam to have their intimate wedding at.

They had the coziest bonfire under the beautiful, early fall, September sunset and ended the night with a first dance under hundreds of strings lights as the harvest moon rose. It was the best coincidence and so fitting for their day. They danced the rest of the evening away with each other and with all of their friends and family.

Getting married wasn’t about the show, or perfection, or even the photos for these two. It was about the relationship they had built, their love of nature, and their closest friends and family. It was a day full of laughs, joy, and more than anything, an abundance of love.

It truly was an unforgettable day, and one of my favourite weddings of all time.
